The Green Wave Gazette - A round-up of recent sustainabilty news and events around the globe by Synergy International.

Welcome back!

Welcome back to Synergy International’s GreenWave 💚 🌊 newsletter! We want to remind you all that because of the Conference of the Parties (COP) sessions—COP 16 on Biological Diversity in Cali, Colombia, and COP 29 on Climate Change in Baku, Azerbaijan, we are excited to introduce a series of focused articles.

This series is exploring and providing source material on the international treaties and legal regimes that form the foundation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

This time we focused on SDG 6

For those who don’t speak Portuguese or can't locate the Google Translate button, here's the gist: Galp, the Portuguese multinational energy corporation, is exploring agrivoltaics—using solar energy to power vineyards. This is sustainability at its finest, doubling the land use for both agriculture and energy generation. Solar panels shield the grapes from extreme sunlight, and, in return, produce clean energy.

Who knew your next glass of wine could come with a side of climate action? Read more...
