Yyyyesss to Slashing Electricity Needed to Make GH2 By 50%

. We're realistic about speed bumps the sustainable development industry is facing regarding large-scale adoption of green hydrogen. As anyone that has attempted to develop such a project knows, tackling high operational expense remains crucial. So a recent report, suggesting that pulsing electricity through electrolysers could cut power requirements by half, very much caught our attention.

🌱For companies investing in green hydrogen, energy expenses often overshadow capital costs. Power Purchasing Agreements (PPAs) balloon operating expense budgets with the green electricity costs in Portugal currently near €69 per kilowatt hour. So this type of technological breakthrough would be a huge boost for adoption of green hydrogen, especially grassroots projects, where electricity prices are the OPEX elephant in the room. Chalk Up a £28 Billion Investment Win for Team ESG


The pushback against Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) investment criteria took an interesting detour this week when a UK pension fund pulled its mandate from US investment manager State Street, which is at the forefront of ESG rollbacks. The People's Pension reallocated £28 billion to asset management groups that continue to play by the old rules of ESG significance, sending up a puff of smoke to indicate the fight to maintain environmental principles as an investment priority is far from over.

💼 This significant move underscores the growing tension between long-term investors and asset managers retreating from ESG commitments. The People's Pension's decision to divest from State Street, reallocating £20 billion to Amundi and £8 billion to Invesco, highlights a steadfast commitment to responsible investment strategies.
